7am

Walking to work for the 7am shift, which is not bad since it is just a booth 4 shift, which basically amounts to just watching TV. There is a guy selling the morning paper, which I never buy because the newspaper here is of pretty poor quality. There's a big headline on the cart (headline of the day) that says "Judge warns of bloodshed in the courts". This is a usual sort of headline, which are generally pretty vague and slightly cryptic. It brings visualizations to my imagination of a judge with a huge gavel prophesying "Be warned! There will be blood. Oh yes, there will be blood..." or maybe like one of those judges wearing the long wigs that they wear in the legal system here, jovially speaking to people in as they file into the courtroom, "Oh, mind the blood there, yes, the bloodshed is terrible today.. just step around, jolly good..."
Anyway, I've never liked the newspaper medium, and especially now days it's just easier to get news online. But NZ news always seems a bit drab in my opinion.
I stopped at the 24 hour esquire cafe to pick up a large double fudge hot chocolate and lemon zinger muffin, which came to a ridiculous total of nearly $10 NZD (but I justify that because I rarely have breakfast, and the double fudge hot chocolate is really good).
