Time to cut the crap. 20-year-old Sea Oleena's
self-titled EP is hands-down, nothing comes close, my absolute favourite release of the year. It's hard to put it into words. It was love at first listen. This is exactly the kind of music that I want to listen to. 'Asleep at the Wheel' is special to me, like 'Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie' or :'When We Fall' kind of special:
There's a forest on the ocean floor
There's an ocean on the northern shore
I think the shoreline loves the ocean more
There's a forest on the ocean floor
Note by note you captivate the clam shells
Capsize your little boat
It floats away
Sink below the surface of the ocean
Drowning in the words you wrote
Like watercolour paints
It got me properly writing poems again. It took me out of an anxiety attack once. I can't describe this one objectively, it's breathtaking. There's nothing really to say but 'thank you.' Not much point saying that here though. But there it is.
