One might almost call the beats on 808s & Dark Grapes II ethereal. This is not something you'd expect in a rap album. But of course this is hardly your typical rap album. Squadda B and MondreM.A.N. both have really down-to-earth flows that belie their youth - both just turned 20 this year. To be honest their rhymes aren't the best you'll ever come across. But it's the beats and the style that really make this work. With their chill delivery and their home-made, lo-fi production style, Main Attrakionz have made a wonderful oddity - the intimate rap album. It's free for download, too.
