A few months back, I StumbledUpon a website that allowed for blind-story collaboration, called Frankenlab. The idea being that you write, say, 140 characters, which are then emailed to your collaborator, however only the last 5 words of your contribution are actually sent.
zenni and I created one, as we were bored that night and had nothing else to do.
Anyway. This morning, we both woke up to an email in our inbox saying that our story has been:
"Identified as a fascinating example of its species and has been selected for preservation in Doctor Frankenstory’s Frankenlab."
You can find it memoralised
here. It is the first one mentioned, for those who can't recognise that Jennily and Kathy are actually
zenni and
ittykat respectively. You should be smacked, by the by.
In other news, I'm finally getting something done on my Christmas swap project. I'd say the main part is about 70% done, which is about 70% more done than it was two days ago. While knitting it, I watched the new BBC adaptation of Emma with Romola Garai, and by golly is it adorable. Seriously. So. Cute. And Emma is really not one of my favourite books ever. I tried to reread it earlier this year and didn't finish it.
When that is out of the way I shall focus on Yuletide, which I'm actually excited about. This is the first Yuletide where I've been assigned a fandom where I am absolutely confident in, and know the source material inside out. It requires very very little research, and lots and lots of fun. I'll probably do a pinch hit if I can as well, assuming I get the first fic knocked out of the way soon enough.
I do realise I have been incredibly lax with life updates, and also with keeping in contact/up to date with some of you, so for the sake of brevity of conversation and ease of reconnection, please tell me, in no particular order:
1. The last thing you ate, no censoring! (For me it was a Strawberry Drumstick.)
2. The last thing you quoted absentmindedly, whether it be the Muppets or George Carlin. (For me it was Twilight. "And then the lion fell in love with the lamb", followed by a little bit of a snort/snigger.)
3. The thing that you are looking forward to most in the coming week. (I think it will be either tomorrow night's Stitch n Bitch, or Sunday, wherein I'm going to go for a swim in Amy's housesittee's pool followed by a screening of New Moon with
kaylan)
