Let us talk about musicals. No, actually, let's not. For reasons I will not go into in detail, I loathe musicals with a passion completely unrivalled by anything else. One would assume they would fall naturally to the path of a music teacher, more naturally still to a choirmaster, but musicals are the most god-awful creations ever unleashed upon man since Pandora let her curiousity get the better of her.
Almost as bad as musicals is opera, but at least in opera, being a diva is merited. One works far harder in one's voice control, creates an instrument. The term diva was coined for opera. But musicals? A manipulation of speaking. Loudly. I loathe them, all of them.
