I think it still effects you because it's the first time you've been dumped. Flat out. You've never felt that kind of rejection before. When you dumped other people, it was always you getting what you wanted, and now you've been put into a situation where you have no control over getting or not getting what you want.
But I am impressed that you didn't puke.
The person you wanted to go hiking with was me, wasn't it? :P
Look at her track history. Personally you should count yourself lucky. She wasn't good enough for you, no lie. When I heard you were dating her I was dissapointed. But sometimes people get us under their spells even when they're no good for us...
Rambling aside: You're a good guy. She's pretty much a whore.
Aside from all the bashing I could do about Louisa *ahem*, I will say that one doesn't choose whom one wants or misses, a lot of the time. And Holly's right, being dumped (for the first time especially) is very hard. You had your life rearranged to fit someone else, and they fit so snugly...and now there's a big gaping hole where they are not. So you'll have to create a different routine to accomodate just you again. You've done it before, you can do it again.
I also am impressed that you didn't vomit. High five! haha. And reading is awesome. End of story.
