Had time to read this with my breakfast...

It's lovely. Really, really good Owen voice and I love the way he includes the whole team so well in a letter that's to Jack. Funny and painful both at the same time.

That... is not something I would say. Or have ever heard before. Missing out the bit that's missed out, I mean.

Would you say, "I forgive you that." and actually use the word 'that' ??

Yeah, I'd say that. Or just "I forgive you." But not "I forgive you me." I could just about go with "I forgive you FOR me" but that's about the nearest I can get.

And now I'm fascinated. I don't see a difference in the approach - to me it's just switching one pronoun for another...

I'm fascinated too. It does make sense, but it's just not something I've EVER heard anyone say!

Thinking about it, I'd be much more likely to just say "I forgive you" rather than "I forgive you that", so maybe that's it?
