Melon pan has no melon

One can easily tell that the bread anime, Yakitate!! Japan, has/had a significant influence on me. It was through the anime that I started buying and trying out French bread, American croissants, and even borrowed a book on a caving expedition. Today, I bought some melon pan, which, not surprisingly, had no melon in its ingredient list. It doesn't taste too bad either. I saw other "pans" at the local Asian/Japanese supermarket, including choco pan. I think that's made of chocobos chocolate.

I saw Japanese-style croissants too. Their sizes compared to their American counterparts mimic the sizes of their human creators. Maybe I'll try those croissants next time.
