its currently september 13th 2009. its starting to feel like fall weather outside that means football season, cooler weather and serious crunch time for me to start saving and paying off all my obligations for my departure date monday march 15th 2010. I'm currently working to pay off my truck which is the biggest burden i only owe 3225 and some change. i have a plan of attack to have it paid completely off by the new year. then its onto saving for the hike, saving for food, hostels, hotels, and extra for when i get home incase i can't find a job right away, or if i decide to do the john muir when i get done. its only the nicest trail in the US. my goal is to have 5000 saved up before march 5th. its not outlandish. i make roughly 40-50k a year. i have chose this date to have a week off before i leave to spend time with loved ones, friends and family. with a going away party. i have already began selling off most of my possessions, its exhilarating and heartbreaking to part with so many things i have worked so hard to get. but i know its going to be worth my walk to maine. if anyone i know is interested in helping me get to maine and feel as if i need money for food or socks or a shower one night i have a paypal. or ill give you my address and you can send me your pennies, ill be happy rolling them up and walking into the bank. Or if you just want me to have money to send you a post card from a small town with lots of funny words and scribbles on it send me your address and a buck (for the post card and the stamp) a ill be more then happy to send you stories of my adventures. To the few people who read LJ and dont know what im talking about im hiking The Appalachian Trail.
im going to start a detailed blog of my planning as well as a keeping a journal when im gone.
