(This is a new verse)
"No, Ethan, it's okay. I really didn't feel like staying, just stay there and have fun. I'll call in the morning, give Nicky a kiss for me." Claire Bennet was talking into her cellphone as she hurried down the street, laughing at something said on the other end and she rolled her eyes, "Oh, so funny. If you kiss her like that and say its from me, you might be out of a girlfriend." She teased as she tugged at her jacket with one hand and then shrugged, "Sure, breakfast sounds good. Well, lets say lunch. Okay, see you guys later." She flipped her phone closed, sliding it into her pocket as she glanced around.
She had only been at the club for an hour or two before she decided on leaving. They had all gone out to celebrate Ethan and Nicky moving in together, starting at their new apartment before heading to the club that they liked to frequent but Claire just hadn't felt like partying wild like the others. So after awhile, she begged off, telling them that she wasn't feeling well and so she ducked it. Didn't surprise her that they called her after she got a couple blocks away but she assured them that she was just fine.
Maybe she should have taken a cab but the night wasn't too cold and she really wasn't feeling chilled. That and she had no actual cash on her. Not that she minded walking as her heels clicked against the pavement, she had been on her own for a couple years since moving to New York around the time that she turned eighteen and started going to NYU. She was in her third year now, having celebrated her twenty-first birthday at the end of summer. She hadn't changed too much though her hair was longer, still falling in soft curls down her back. She still looked a lot the same except her style was a little mature as was she.
She wore a silk green fitted top that dipped into a v-neckline in the front, some ruffles adding a bit of romance to the shirt and perhaps balancing the tight skirt that she wore. The simple black cut hugging her hips to her knees, showing off a little more of her shape as she hurried along in her waist length jacket that was left open at the moment. She was only a couple blocks from her home on York Street, shivering a little as she couldn't wait to get upstairs, get her heels off and into something more comfortable. Plus she had some brownies that she had made the day before and there was one slice with her name on it.
