-OOC, Memory 3- Enter Boomerang

Night leaned back against a containment tube, arms folded over his chest. He casually peeked over his shoulder at creature floating inside, and the knight standing before it.

"Even Berserk failed," spoke the armored knight in blue and white armor, throwing his cape behind him as he addressed a massive insectoid creature. The last Night had seen him... or what was left of him... Night didn't finish that thought, and felt mildly sick, but continued to watch.

"He had the most destructive power of the Quarter Knights, and he was defeated."

The air nearby rippled like the surface of a lake. Materializing was a hunched, cloaked figure with spindly, spidery fingers and a masked face. The voice that rolled forth from it was thin, wispy, almost like a snake's hiss. It made his skin crawl a little, even in the memory.

"Powerful or not, his mistake was his failure to follow the plan. It doesn't matter how mighty the weapon may be; lack of technique is fatal and led to Berserk's inevitable demise. Berserk was too egotistical to have any kind of wisdom," it said.

Another figure leaped in from seemingly nowhere, a very human-looking woman dressed in red armor. Her eyes were empty, and her voice was cold. "He failed to finish our plan and made us clean his mess. I say this is a perfect ending. The good news is that we have the pleasure of finishing up where we left off. He has done all right."

The cloaked, hissing figure turned. "I don't feel as confident with just three of us left. After all, we are the Quarter Knights, a group of four. Let us not continue with just three members."

Night's heart lifted.

"Don't fear, my precious children," spoke the very large, cocoon-like creature in a honeyed voice... just like the one in his nightmares.

"Leave it up to me to fill the void. Our missing piece is here."

Night heard his own voice, filled with confidence, of finally being noticed.

"We need a new member who will not just increase our power, but who will also complement our team! I was getting tired of his mediocrity. Give us someone new!" Oh, how he seemed to wait for this moment. Mother would call his name, let him into the Knights...!

"Boomerang! Come before us! A true, valiant knight!" Mother called from within the tube, spidery legs twitching.

Night watched, his heart falling into his shoes as a tall, mysterious-looking figure strode into the room, accompanied by a very large wolf. As the blue and white-armored knight turns to speak to Mother once more, all goes dark.
