I notice that 32GB SDHC class 6 has now become trivially cheap (by Norwegian standards at least, and we do pay 25% sales tax on them). This lends an aura of foresight to Acer's decision to include 2 SD card slots on their dirt cheap Aspire One, of which I have one of the early models with a primitive SSD and Linux. One of these cards can be merged with the SSD via aufs, though I suppose that would make it a bad idea to remove it for the next few years. Then again Transcend cards have a lifetime warranty, so they seem to have some confidence that the things will keep working.
Then again I am already booting my Aspire One from a 16GB Transcend Jetflash USB, so I suppose it is not an acute need for me personally. Perhaps I should hold out for the inevitable 64GB or beyond... Should be in the same price range in max 18 months, if Moore's law does its trick.
