Oklahoma Summers Are Hot.

Yesterday my Mom, Rendi, Pam and I went to the state horse show again, to watch Hannah and Andreya ride in trail and western pleasure. Rendi and I didn't qualify in any riding events, and she wouldn't have been able to ride anyway, with her broken leg. We were there to watch three classes and we were there for like seven hours. We helped them get ready, and sat around with them while we waited for the classes. Destiny and her Mom, and Morgan, who's five, came to watch too. It was really fun, but so freaking hot. It's been 95 at least everyday this week. And what's scary is the worst is still to come. But I might get lucky and be in Wyoming by then. XD

On our way home, we got lunch at Taco Bell, dropped Rendi and Pam back off at their truck, and headed home. About 10 minutes away from our house our van broke down. It was doing the same thing that we had it fixed for two weeks ago. It completely broke down, we got off to the side of the road, and called Dad. He came out, and tried to get it fixed himself. A police woman stopped to make sure we were okay, and said that on that stretch of road it's really dangerous to be on the shoulder, people get hit there a lot, so she stayed with us for a while, till Dad decided that it wasn't going to be fixed anytime soon, at least, not on the side of the road. She gave us a tow truck number, and left, and the three of us sat on the side of the road for fourty minutes in the 95 degree heat while we waited for the tow truck. We had another policeman stop, actually, to make sure we were okay and tell us how dangerous it is there. XD But finally the truck came, and they took it to the dealership to get fixed. Again. Of course, it was five pm on a Saturday, so nothing's happening till tomorrow.

Today I went to look at a horse. I know, I don't need another horse, I have four. We saw his ad and thought he sounded pretty good, so what the heck, let's just go look at him. We wanted a show horse, and for his price it sounded like he was going to be a backyard pony and not pretty enough for showing, or way too easy for me to ride. As soon as I saw him I knew that that wasn't the case. He's an 8 year old 15 hand high palomino paint gelding. He's built very well, and his conformation is pretty good, better than Sheik's. He's very personable, loves to be with you at all times, and loves being loved on. He's been through everything, parades, trails, etc. He's a really easy to ride, but can get up and go when you need him to, and as soon as I got on him, I knew he was it. So even though we had pretty much no intention of buying a  horse today ... we did. His name is July. We are picking him up Wenesday.

After we looked at him, since we were in a pretty big town, we decided to go out to eat for Father's Day. We went to JR's Family BarBQ. JR's an annoucer from the WWE or whatever? lol, I don't really know. But Dad loved it, and there was wrestling stuff all over the place. The food was awesome, and way too much! I brought home more than half of it, and I was completely stuffed when we left. We also went Atwoods afterwards, so I could get a halter for July.

fathers day, car trouble, july, state horse show, horses, sheik
