After a good bit of travel yesterday, Pete and I arrived in San Diego for our honeymoon. Since then, we've both fallen in love with this city. We have a view of the bay from our room on the 30th floor and we can see for miles! It's just been beautiful!
Last night we grabbed a nice dinner at a place that I believe was called "Chianti" in the Gaslamp Quarter. After that, we went across the street to the Ghiridelli store for dessert. Pete had a mocha coffee drink while I opted for a scoop of strawberry cheesecake ice cream in a sugar cone. We also got a sample of their peppermint chocolate square for the holidays, so needless to say, it was completely delicious.
Today we had an amazing adventure at the world famous San Diego zoo. It is so unbelieveable to see...I've always been a fan of what the Detroit Zoo could do for the animals. But this place is an amazing look at the world I've never seen. The whole place is so lush with green plants that you actually feel like you're walking through bits of the rain forest, save for the paved paths. I took a ton of photos that I'll be posting to my Facebook account once Pete and I get home on Monday morning.
Tonight, dinner downstairs at the Fox Sports Lounge in our hotel, a dip in the hot tub and pool, then I'm crashing for the night. We walked for miles today. But the good news is my legs are not as sore as I expected them to be. Walking around in DC certainly taught me to be prepared on that front when it comes to getting around.
Tomorrow's agenda? Sea World during the day and dinner at Nobu across the street for a fantastic sushi dinner. The two have no relation to each other.
Absolutely loving this city! Now it's time to write out a post card!
