Recent Gets and cosplay
Start off October with some exciting gets!
First off, a near lifesize Zorua appeared! A little damage to the vnyl hair top, otherwise perfect! She has big foam peices inside so a good resruffing is in order if I choose to keep her in favor of getting a Talky Tomy Zoura instead.
Hot Topic's Eeveelutions have sold out on their website, so a trip to the store was in order. They had multiple Leafeons, Sylveons and one Espeon. I'm surprized how vibrant Espeon is and the quality if perfect. Sylveon is a bit pale on her pink spots and eyes, but I don't have the JP plush to compare officially. The buy one get one half off deal they always had was a help, I desided on getting Sylveon and Espeon scince I don't -really- collect Leafeon. The tomy is probably his cutest plush, I'll be going back to get him and hopefully Umbreon or Flareon <3
Advanced Gen anime poster! Nice full art, they even included Max ^^ Had to add this to my May/3rd gen collection. I'll get a nice frame soon :>
Cosplay!
Now unfortunately I have not had the chance to watch the XY anime. However right before I found these sunglasses, I saw the new Serena's Pancham plush. Next day, I found the "real glasses" :P Not sure if Serena will wear them in the actual anime, but they could be used for my future anime cosplay of her.
My Halloween event at my workplace feautures costume contests so why not use the cosplay I've been working on? A refrence picture is all that is required for judgeing. I've slowly been working on May/Emerald May/Sapphire costumes for a while but so far only items for RS May have turned up.
The beautifull and spot-on bandana was made by BadWolfCosplay on Etsy, they also offer the Emerald and Sapphire(Pokemon Adventures/Pokespe) versions aswell which I plan on getting while they still offer them. One of the best purchaces I have made, I desided to let 1:1 Vee wear it :)
One of the harder peices to find with no sewing skills for leather-like materials, after a bit of searching for the closest thing I could find to May's sidebag this "Buxton Croc" bag came up on eBay. Lacking the two front side by side pockets and a belt that matches the actual bag, but it was under $20 and I can always add those given the right material. A yellow belt replacement should atleast be simple to locate.
I ended up going to Party City for gloves. Sure enough, found both, under $8 and grabbed a dollar bag of candy corn to boot. Now I suppose it's Halloween time :P Candy corn never lies. Ironicly this gave me the name for my new Supersize Female Pumpkaboo in Y Version I took hours to find: Candy Korn. Also Korn refrence XP The gloves will be cut and re-attached. If that fails, I might just buy white gloves again with a material that might accept blue color stain and wrap blue fabric around the cuff area. :C Though that might of been easier in the first place.
Shoes were a used find, I admit I've seen shoes with a shape closer to May's right after getting these but given the actual design on her shoes, I thought this soft yellow shoe would work best. Plan on using soft flat color craft foam to lay the designed layers on. If that fails, I can test my skills in fabric.
Now all that is left is finding the red cycling top close as I can get it to May's and the simply white miniskirt that is being a pain to find. If it's not too late to order one, I might get the life-size Torchic earlier then I planed for the costume. If not, Hasbro large plush will have to do. (and 1:1 'Vee possibly)
