Without much fanfare we left the nice town Nikko. A few hours and three trains later we arrived in Tokyo, the last destination of our trip. I was expecting here to get the cultural shock I kept on thinking I should get in Japan. Well, Tokyo around mid-day is big, but not much shock inducing. Unless you count that someone saw we had trouble navigating (we were fresh out of the way and had problem with the Japanese map) and asked us in English if we needed help. Lo and behold, that lady spoke really good English and was very kind to lead us almost to our hotel.
Our good luck didn't run out at that. We were able to get our room early, and we found a nice deal on lunch.
Since we had a lot of time left, we decided to check out Kamakura, a small town on the outskirts of Tokyo and a destination we thought we had to give up. The main attraction the town had to offer, and quite frankly, the only one we felt like checking was a giant statue of Buddha. Slightly smaller than the other one we encountered before (can't remember where exactly now) but this one was outside.
A short post today. First, we didn't do a lot today. Most of the day was spent on different trains going places. Secondly, I am beat. Thirdly, tomorrow we are leaving our room early to go to Mt, Fuji. That should be exciting!
