preach on, sista.

another thing that amuses the hell out of me is the sanctity of marriage... so, lemme get this straight. there's roughly a 50 percent divorce rate in the US [i will find that stat later], people can marry in nevada at 3am to some hooker they met an hour prior, and celebrity couples marry and divorce in the blink of an eye... umm, to me? the "sanctity of marriage" has been more tarnished by all that, than by gay people being allowed married rights.

my cousin [who is visiting right now] is a lesbian and she and her longtime partner have four children, all adopted at-risk kids. they own a house on an acre of land in connecticut. i would argue that they are better parents than many that i know. oh, and they're gay. according to a few people i know, their kids will be all corrupted and shit.

whatever. living in oklahoma is a huge wakeup call to how closeminded some of the red states can be. i'm used to san francisco and the bay area, which is a far more open-minded area about accepting people's lifestyles.

as far as passing an amendment to federally ban gay marriage [has anyone heard anything new about this? i feel like a schmuck for not knowing anything new]... remember what happened last time an amendment was passed to ban something? that was prohibition. look how well that turned out.

homosexuals exist... and they're not going away, and they WILL continue to fight for their rights. and i'm gonna be there to support my friends.

*steps off soapbox*

AMEN! I completely agree. There are some of us who stand true to our vows and don't just run as soon as things get bad and some of us believe in monogomy and don't think that just because things get bad, it's ok to be unfaithful!

One of my best friends is a foster parent (he's single) and in the process of adopting a child they took away from the child's STRAIGHT parents because they were abusive. Sexuality doesn't determine the type of person someone is. I can't stand narrow minded, think my way or else, attitudes.

I completely agree with what you said and I will continue to fight for my friends as well. :)
