my spring break has come to an end... bummer. it was chock full of japanese goodness, though!
monday and tuesday i was moping around at home being depressed because i had been under self-imposed house arrest for a full month.
on wednesday i hung out with alyssa and we went to CPK to eat delicious foodz, then we stopped off at HOB in downtown disney and alyssa was awesome and secured my An Cafe concert ticket for me. after that we hit up the arcade at boomer's and played vigorous games of DDR, air hockey, and taiko taiko revolution (or something to that effect XP haha). we refreshed ourselves afterward at cafe-T with a nice milk tea and peach mango smoothie, respectively. we also ate honey butter brick toast, drew funny little sticky note messages, and chatted there until the place closed. then we talked more for quite a while in front of my house.
on thursday sean and i accompanied emily to irvine in order to meet her boyfriend brent. we all went to Kitty House and took fun purikura pictures, then we mosied over to kaisen and stuffed our faces full of sushi. lord how i'd missed kaisen! oh, and i discovered that spicy tuna rolls are delicious.
friday i worked at a horribly run site and had the worst supervisor yet. she didn't explain a damn thing to me and then kept accusing me of not doing my job. i gave her some sass and finally after she left i was free to do things my way. when i got home my mom had some teachers over for a happy hour thing, so i talked with them most of the evening.
today i went to little tokyo with a group of people from my japanese class. we explored the little tokyo galleria (the indoor mall) when we first arrived and played in the arcade for a while, then we headed out through the streets in search of a place to eat. there was a festival going on so the main street was closed off and it was pretty crowded and surprisingly i didn't mind one bit. we explored a cool j-rock/anime/lolita fashion store and some other neat little shops then we ate at san sui tei, which is a pretty tasty ramen joint. i had kobe beef ramen, a spicy tuna roll, and some takoyaki. after that we headed back to the galleria and did karaoke for 2 hours, singing both english and japanese songs (even though we'd often fuck up the japanese songs and laugh. it's hard to read japanese that fast) next we went to beard papa's and snacked on cream puffs and milk tea then explored the supermarket. some of the people had to leave by then, so a small group of us drove to rowland heights (doing car karaoke on the way. haha) and took purikura pictures in diamond plaza (at Cue!). sadly that was the end of our adventure and we went home.
god it felt good to go out and do things this week... i was really getting horribly depressed being stuck at home for so long. i'm still in the process of job hunting... it's not going favorably. damn you economy! sigh... my next paycheck is going to be abismal. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO GO OUT REGULARLY AGAIN AND BE ABLE TO AFFORD FUN THINGS!!! ugh.
patience iago.
