I've found a new small mini-fandom to adore - The Scarlett Pimpernel.
A&E/BBC did a small series of Pimpernel in 1998 with Richard E. Grant that I was surprised to find quite delightful. I can see why two different production crews thought REG would make a good doctor - far more when I look at this performance when compared to Withnail and I...which made him seem rather frightfully creapy. But Paul McGann was lovely in Withnail.
IMDB says there were five made but the library's boxset only had three in it. I believe I am now on a quest. *checks uTorrent* Damn, It's not torrented.
My journey to the library last thursday was a little adventure in itself. There aren't any bikepaths So I ended up walking my bike through peoples lawns but then there's this huge construction site on the corner before the library. I was like //score! I can bike though this large expanse of dirt - at last some use from this bike!// And so I started biking but what really happened was not as expected. It had rained the night before, and I had forgotten, forgotten to connect the dots. That innocent looking field was mud. Deep clinging mud. Coated the tires and when I got off the bike to walk it back to the grassy edge the mud came up over my flipflops. Eee! But I was amused, looking forward to a library gives me a very indomitableattitude.
The college library doesn't have a single book on knitting, not one. Well there's a Better Homes & Gardens book on knitting and crochet for the home, but I like making sweeping generalizations too much to let that one count.
