jmckayThis week’s weekend I was never alone. I was not busy Saturday because there was no football game. I bought a ticket and saw a play with Caroline. I went to the bookstore and read Making Money with
ljmckay . We watched Doctor Who. We knitted. It rained. I gave Becky two books for her birthday, she was very happy. There was cake. It was good cake. I will go to H.E.B. on Monday to buy more food.
My life is so exciting.
I'm hoping it'll look longer on the page ^.^
But what really consumed my weekend is something I'm not telling Sensei. I spent all of Saturday morning watching Legend of the Arching Hero. I'm up to episode fourteen right now and just thinking of it to write this entry makes me want to watch more.
Damn it's siren call!
ljmckay was talking over the internet while Kang'er's mom and dad were reuniting (and the subsequent impossibly tragic double suicide. The snow! The flashback to when they were young! So sad! ) and she had to explain to sister dearest what all the bizarre noises in the background were.
Those would be me - being very upset.
But she explained it away as 'my roommate watching Chinese soap opera'!! (don't worry dear, I forgive you)
I guess it kind of is - all the glorious reunions and interconnections are very unlikely and quite crackified - but in such a good way that I've got to find a term to describe it to people that has a less pejorative feel.
Admitedly, kung fu soap opera has a certain ring to it.
