THE PROMPT: An idea from Abby and mine twisted brains. Life in an 1890’s brothel full of rent boys, with they’re sexuality being both illegal and looked down up on they show that despite that they enjoy both their jobs and lives.

SYNOPSIS: In a world where their desires’ are outlawed and the love shamed and mocked it’s hard for the small group of men to be themselves. Alfred and Edgar decided long ago they wouldn’t deny themselves the right to be happy, living as a married couple Alfred and Edgar own and run the most well known and smartest gay brothels in London. With MP’s and even the odd royal on they’re books The Jacobi Club is the place to be if you swing that way.
This is the stories of the people who work and visit The Club.

Alfred and Edgar
Living as a married couple Alfred and Edgar own and run the most successful and well respected brothel in London. With clients such as Royals and MP’s they find themselves the keepers of many secrets involving the ruling classes of Victorian London. Both know with one word to the right person they could make or break a person. But they use this to they’re own advantage when a bloody and battered young boy named Ilya is found on they’re doorstep.

Alfred Mayweather
Born in America Alfred moved to England with his lover Edgar after being hounded out of they own home. Alfred met and fell in love with Edgar after he had suffered a brutal beating at the hands of another man, asking no more he took the boy home and helped him back to help. In a bid to protect Edgar he decided they should start a fresh in London. With the money he inherited from his mother’s estate Alfred brought a house in his and Edgar’s name to insure that Edgar would always have a home. In order to save other people suffering the way Edgar had Alfred decides with the help of Edgar to open the Jacobi Club.


Edgar Mayweather
Born and raised in New York Edgar was as far removed from Alfred’s class as he could be. Living hand to mouth and selling himself to the sailors Edgar learnt how to look after himself. Meeting Alfred after a brutal beating from a client Edgar fought against his feelings for Alfred believing Alfred deserved better then him. Seeing himself as used and broken Edgar still question why Alfred loves him.
Edgar feels free for the first time in his life when he and Alfred move to London, with Alfred he opens The Jacobi Club. Where’s the men living and working for them see Alfred as a father figure Edgar is definitely the boss.

Graham
The youngest of the men working in The Jacobi Club Graham plays up to his image as the baby of the bunch. He has the face of an angel but the mind of a devil. Knowing how to get what he wants whenever he wants he loves his life in the house. With his best friend Poppy he’s always spying on someone or plotting something.
Not much is known about Graham’s past only he was working the streets before he met Poppy who introduces him to Alfred Mayweather.

Bae
Bae is known as the exotic wonder from the east only he’s not, he was born and in raised the east end of London. Despite this he’s one of the highest paid men in the club something Harvey and Oakley aren’t happy about. This leads to a number of arguments between the three men, A favourite among the clients Edgar is keen to keep him working for him and often sides with Bae when it comes down to it. Bea sends half of all his earning to his sister his only family in London who he visits weekly and talks about fondly.
Bae’s best friends with Kelsey the pair take Ilya under their wing when he first enters the club.

Harvey
Harvey has all the right moves and can pass himself of as an earl or lord, moving in the upper classes of Victorian London he's often hired for nights or weekends at a time to accompany men on hunting weekends and such. He feels he should earn more for this and is always fighting with Bae who he feels is below him. Despite not earning the same as Bae he does enjoy the gifts his men lavish on him. Harvey doesn’t speak of his family and no one asks knowing it’s unwise to upset him. Harvey loves learning and reading and is teaching Lilly the maid to read and write. His softer side isn’t something anyone other then Lilly see’s.

Fraser
Fraser unlike many of the men he works with doesn’t have a sob story and he’s in touch with his family. A country boy Fraser grew up on a farm and worked there until he came to London three years ago. With his build and country accent most of his clients like him to indulge in role play with them. This has earned him the nickname the actor. He loves his life he’s able to send money home and have a life where he wants for nothing until he finds himself falling in love with a new client named Duncan.

Kelsey
Best friends with Bae, Kelsey has been at the club for a year, with a steady flow of regular clients Kelsey has a friendly and open personality. Born and raised in Ireland he came to England after a failed romance with a priest, falling into selling himself in order to pay his bed and board he only came to the club after a chance meeting with Bae who was visiting his sister.
Kelsey helps Doctor Edwin Jones and Katie care for Ilya when he’s found on the doorstep of the club. Seeing the damaged done to Ilya Kelsey takes the boy under his wing and treats him like a brother.

Oakley
Oakley is a lose cannon, known for losing his temper at the slightest thing if it wasn’t for the fact his clients include a Earl and a Prince Edgar would have thrown Oakley out long ago. Friends with Harvey, Oakley believes himself worth more the wage he earns. He hates Bae and wants him gone. He stays knowing that there’s no other place as good as this in London but is forever treating to leave even going so far as packing his bags once only to be talked out of it by Harvey. He dreams of running the club and is saving his money to buy his own house and out doing the club.

The shy new boy who joins the group after being attack
Ilya
Ilya is found on the doorstep of The Jacobi club in the middle of winter. No ones sure where he came from or who he is but they bring him in a call for a doctor. Beaten and bloody the doctor informs them he’s been raped and he’s not sure if the boy will live. Unconscious Katie and Kelsey take it upon themselves to nurse him back to health.
Waking up Ilya is unable to tell them anything of what happened to him, Ilya finds a home among the men of the club despite Graham Oakley and Harvey being against the idea.

Kieran
A married business man is like most of the men who visit the club, visiting once a month while his wife thinks he’s away on business Kieran is funny and loveable. Always asking to see Kelsey he never leaves without sharing a cup of tea and a chat with Katie.

Rowan
A play write who calls Graham his muse visits weekly and not always for sex spending some of his visits just talking to Graham and writing he finds himself drawn to the young man.

Shy virgin who becomes a regular
Duncan
Duncan unsure about his sexuality, uneasy in his own skin he finds himself in the club due to the advice of his brother who is the only person he can confined in. Once inside and alone with the young man named Fraser he finds himself for the first time. He soon starts visiting more and more spending his father’s money, enjoying the friendship and sex that he finds.

The MP who enjoys regular threesomes with two of the boys.
Terence Darby
A front bench MP close friends with the prime Minster is a regular at the club enjoy threesomes with Fraser and Bae. With his powerful friends Terence is a close friend with Alfred informing him of the news from Whitehall and so on. With his help the club is kept out of the public eye and the who’s who of the London scene are among its clients. For this help and protection all he expects is the odd free night or weekend with Harvey.

The Doctor who takes care of the boys without asking questions
Doctor Edwin Jones
Doctor Jones is madly in love with Katie the only problem with this is he’s already married. Edwin looks after the men without asking questions or telling anyone of they’re business. At first everyone thinks it’s because he loves Katie but while examining Ilya it becomes clear it’s something more. He tells Alfred later it’s because his brother was beaten to death because he was gay. If Katie asked Edwin would leave his wife to be with her, but he believes she doesn’t even know he loves her.

The two maids
Poppy
Poppy is a cheeky and mouthy south Londoner, best friends with Graham she’s always finding herself in trouble. She says she doesn’t go looking for it but no one quite believes that as her and Graham are always plotting and spying on people. Born and raised in a work house she came to work at the club due to the fact Katie found her screaming and shouting at a client who’d stolen money from her friend who’d been working the streets. Poppy is shocked by nothing and speaks before thinking which more often then not lands her in trouble.

Lilly
where Poppy is is loud and brash Lilly is quite and shy. Keeping herself to herself Lilly finds making friends hard and when she started at the club she had no idea what went on there. Poppy took great pleasure in telling her the details. Unable too look any of the men in the eye a while it wasn’t until Harvey asked her why she rushed away from them all was she able to talk to anyone other then Poppy and Katie.
Harvey and Lilly became friends after Lilly asked him to help her write a letter home to her mum in Scotland. Still shy around anyone but Harvey Lilly is taking lessons in writing and reading from Harvey and enjoys drinking the left over champagne with Oakley and Harvey listening to how they plan to start they own brothel and dreams of having Katie’s job.

House Keeper
Katie
Much more then a house keeper Katie run’s the club making sure the men have what they need and the clients are seen on time. Katie acts as a mother towards Lilly Poppy Graham and Ilya. While everyone else see’s her as a big sister. Alfred and Edgar know without Katie keeping everyone in line the house would fall apart, Katie love her independent and this job allows her everything she wants. She loves Doctor Edwin Jones but is unwilling to give up her freedom to be with him.
It’s Katie who finds Ilya on the doorstep and it’s her who talks Alfred and Edgar into letting him stay with them once he’s well. Katie has a family two sisters who are married with families of they own and she visits them once a month claiming ‘anymore then that and they’ll start driving me mad’
