Naruto keeps surprising me))) I could hardly imagine that I would once again watch the anime with glee, yet the latest episode proved that I was wrong.
I'm 99 % of the time against filler additions, but they expanded Orochimaru's story beautifully. I liked his reactions to Nawaki and Dan's death and the little moment with young Anko. He seemed a bit crazy already but still came off as a pretty cool sensei)))
What really made me squeal like a fangirl in this chapter was... ITACHI!!!! First, the little one in that sleeveless shirt; and omg, he really did look like a kid as opposed to the flashbacks in the first part where he looked 18 at the age of 13))) They mastered the art of drawing children apparently))) Then this awesome moment with Itachi coming to the Akatsuki. LOL, they showed Pain's face ahead of time))) Finally, the monumental failed attempt on Itachi's life when Itachi said the epic Uchiha words: "Every jutsu you have is nothing against these eyes" which translate as "the bane of Orochimaru's, Deidara's and every other loser's existence". XDDDD I liked the scary genjutsu that Itachi put him under - and apparently Sasuke [inadvertently?] repeated it years later))) Oh, and the little Itachi and Kisame scene at the end. Cute as well. Speaking of Itachi, there was a scene I totally forgot to mention in my previous post about manga/anime. Sasuke's training and visual transitions from Itachi to Sasuke. I love it how Itachi's constantly on his mind. It's a pretty destructive drive, but knowing what we know about Itachi (even if Sasuke still doesn't know it in the anime time frame), it still seems cute. XDDD
Orochimaru's death was pretty sad to me. I couldn't care less when he dies in the manga, but recently I've come to like Orochimaru quite a lot. His death worked really well with the background story and the "ominous signs" everyone witnessed: Naruto, Jiraiya and Tsunade watching the bloody sunset, Itachi watching two stars and one of them falling, and the ever-present hawk. The hawk is Madara's motive; it appeared in the manga along with Madara, but apparently they think it's cool to forward those events. XDD
And Kabuto's realization was a pretty strong scene too. I totally love Sasuke here. Cool, composed and not irritating like he is now))))
I'm frankly quite pleased with the story and the pacing of this episode. And the preview for the next one got me screaming: SUIGETSU!!!!! FINALLY!!! God, how long have I been waiting for him! <3 I hope they give him a nice voice))))
The manga chapter was pretty much all right too.
I think the most interesting thing for me was the meeting between Cloud nins and Team 7. Before that, Naruto and Sakura were having awesome hysterical fits about Danzou and Sasuke. The idea with the seal on Sai's tongue is pretty neat too. But then the Cloud guys came (and I love them more and more, I think) and fiiiiinally mentioned Sasuke being part of the Akatsuki now. Gotta love Naruto and Sakura's faces))))
And they promise us the Kage Summit finally. Good thing, too. Maybe we'll get to see Gaara? XDD
All in all, this week Naruto brings surprises again))) And I'm pleased. And now I'll think and maybe update smth)))
ETA:
Updated No Major Harm XDDDD
