because I was sure Hal would do something really nasty to Rook. He recruited him, I'm sure that qualifies XDDDD But yes, nice Hal is a creepy Hal. XD I think this story is in a way my means of making peace with Hal. I can't stand s5 Hal but unapologetically evil dystopian Hal is another thing entirely.
LOL at Cutler being pissed at Hal's softly-softly approach. As Shiro once pointed out, Cutler is Hal's wife and Rook is Hal's mistress. XDDDD Cutler is just jealous. >_<
Five to one odds in Hal's favour. Knowing Hal, the gun was probably empty. XD
I seem to recall Hal living in Buckingham Palace in other stories too. I don't know where it comes from, but I always write him living there when I write stories set in this version of reality. It just seems like such a Hal thing to do. First they eat the royal family, then they move in. :))
Your Hal is such a spectacular diva. Good thing he's not singing Puttin' on the Ritz yet. XD
I'm glad you liked this chapter. <333 I still can't believe we actually posted it, wow. XD
Hahaha, well, Rook's a vampire now and he doesn't like it, so if that's not breakdown fuel, I don't know what is.

Unfortunately, I can never look at evil!Hal the same way again. Aside from that weird singing moment (and the whole Jekyll & Hyde thing), evil Hal isn't as different from what I'd previously imagined as I'd feared he'd be. He's quite obnoxious with his air of superiority but that's how the cool bad guys are unless you mix in some angst. XD Still, since I firmly believe 99 % of s5 are somebody's drunken hallucination, I draw the line at the bits and pieces of canon on evil Hal we got in s4. He was diva-ish there too but not that OTT. XD

He went from being Hannibal Lecter to Sideshow Bob. Buhahaha, best comparison ever! Except I like Sideshow Bob (esp. compared to the new TV-series Hannibal). Ugh, the whole Lady Mary thing is still a sore spot. I prefer to pretend that didn't exist either. I only turn to s5 canon elements to make fun of them. XD
