It looks like rain today. Again. Last night, we had pretty dramatic thunderstorms. The ground is saturated.
The good news is, the builders next door will be going on holiday for two weeks beginning Monday! I won't know how to react to the peace and quiet...no more grinding of a cement mixer, screeching of the crane, hammering, sawing, generalized banging, power tools, guys yelling, gawking, etc. Best of all, I'll have my backyard privacy back for two whole weeeeks! =)
Melissa called yesterday with some really heartbreaking news. It seems her G'mom (her dad's mother) is in an ICU, and it really doesn't look good. She had a massive heart attack and they're unable to replace her pacemaker due to complications from the lymphoma she's been battling. She's always been a really strong, outspoken, matriarchal figure in the family. I spoke with Melissa's father last night, and while he seemed quite stoic about it all, I'm sure he's pretty upset. He expects her to die soon.I really hope she pulls through. =/
Melissa also told me that she quit the "International girls" dance troupe after the first rehearsal. I was right, they weren't dancers of her caliber. (Read:skeeve). I'm happy and proud that she made that decision. She's continuing to take classes at
http://newyork.ucbtheatre.com/classes/, and she LOVES it. =)
Geesh, I just stepped outside and the sky looks ominous!
It looks also like the sunflower seeds Lore and I planted are getting ready to bloom! =)
I hope they get their first baby petals while she's here this weekend. =)
Quick joke: A woman goes to her physician and complains of severe, chronic flatulence. "Thank goodness they're silent, because I teach in front of a group of 30 people each day", she exclaims. The doctor's responds, "Well, the first thing we're going to do is send you in for a hearing test."
....get it?!
Well, that just about covers it from this end. ;)
Much love to you all. I hope everyone is doing well.
