Mattie picked up the phone once more before putting it down. He was already dating Ritsuko so why was he too shy to do this. Taking a deep breath he picked it up again and slowly dialed her number, stopping a few times in cause he changed his mind, but eventually he heard it begin to ring.

Ritsuko picked up the phone, answering it without looking at the window that displayed the caller. "Hello?" she said in the phone, not sure if it was her brother or father.

"Hey Ritsuko its me...Mattie." he said nervously in the phone. Even though they were dating he was about to ask her out on an official date.

"Hi umm..." Mattie took a deep breath and took the plunge. "I was wondering if you'd like to hang out with me. You know go on our first official date sometime?"

"Yes of course!" Ritsuko replied while trying not to sound as excited as she was. She loved being loved. It made her feel wanted. "When should we go? And where?"

"Oh um I didn't think of that. We could go grab a bite to eat after school tomorrow if you wanted." Mattie hoped that wouldn't sound lame.

"Sounds like fun. Let's do it!" Ritsuko said. She really liked Mattie. It didn't take her long to become very attached to boyfriends. Sometimes, that wasn't always a good thing.

"Me neither," Ritsuko said. Before hanging up, she said, "I love you," in a sincere tone. And she really did mean it.

Mattie flushed, "I love you too Rits." He hoped his voiced didn't squeak. "Well I look forward to our date tomorrow. Have a good night Ritsuko."

Ritsuko sat back on her bed, hugging a pillow. She really hoped this relationship worked out. No, she knew it would. She would make sure of that.
