Looking around online, reading strange facts about Mississippi, I unwittingly discovered several exciting places to possibly visit for nature communion, or to just get away. Most days will find me either driving through some beautiful country scenery, or walking about in it, when I'm lucky. There are tons of national parks around here, why not take advantage? I'm almost embarrassed to admit I never even thought of Red Bluff (link at bottom), about 30 miles away. Someone took me there when I was 16, but I wasn't impressed. At 16, I was basically un-impressable. Twenty years later, I'd very much like to go back, bring a book & maybe a sandwich; I'll see if I can find it one day in the next week or two.
That's certainly not the only place I'd like to explore. There are natural springs, Native American mounds & temples, waterfalls, petrified forests, & lakes galore.... One in particular that caught my eye is Clark Creek Water park, though it's not so close that I could go & come back in one day. Well... It's about a 4 hour drive round trip, so technically it is possible. Anyway, now is the time of year, in my opinion, to visit a natural water park. Waterfalls in the crisp chill... yes, please!
