JAVA FREAKIN JOE's BABY!
i've worked here at prcc (hattiesburg center) for over 2 years now. there's been a problem since i started, and before then as well, of course, of no place to buy any food other than really, really old, dusty, dirty, cockroach-infested snack machines that half the time take your money and give you no product.
WELL. i was out from work allll last week with this flu/bronchitas (sp?)/crud that is going around, and when i returned monday, low and behold, in the previously pitiful excuse for a "student lounge", a small sandwich/coffee/sweet shoppe has opened!! it's a little place, locally owned by a really cool guy named Joe, and it's called, appropriately, Java Joe's. they have the BEST chicken salad sandwiches, which i have had for lunch everyday this week, excellent coffee, and the hugest brownies you have ever seen in your life!! they are so far having booming success, and i predict it will continue. i get something from there, be it a sandwich for lunch, coffee in the evening, or a little piece of cake or something for a snack, at least 2 times a day, and Joe has started giving me discounts, which is so so freakin awesome for me cuz i am rather low on funds right now (aren't we all). i just can't say enough good things about this place.
anyone in hattiesburg, if your in the PRCC H'burg area (you know, highway 49 south down by the old hudson's) stop in and check this place out. all homemade goodies at very decent prices!! :D
in other news, i was just invited to a christmas party by one of my boyfriend's students next thursday. i was also invited to another party for his sophomore student THIS thursday. the one next week, the student told me they will be playing a game called "white elephant"?? i think ?????? or something like that, which is apparantly somrhitn like dirty santa, only you bring something from your house, like an old purse or sweater or mug or something, and then everyone exchanges and exchanges etc etc. I am super excited, it sounds like it will be loads of fun!! i haven't been this excited about the holiday season in a while. this is great! YAY HOLIDAYS!!
