my new addiction

Martin bought me a Kindle for my early christmas present. I've so far down-loaded all of Shakespeare's plays, sonnets ect... all of Jane Austen ect... Books I need for class and books I've wanted to read but did not have the time I've got a sample and I'm waiting for time to read them. I thought when I first got the gadget it would be a novelty. Not so in the process of getting a liberal arts degree I find I must read a wide variety of books. With my added memory I can put five thousand books on my kindle - right at my finger tips. Now mind you I miss the lovely feeling of holding a book and flipping back and forth. Yet I was getting rid or giving away books at an alarming rate as I was running short of room with six or seven book cases and more books coming into the collection each semester. I would lament my book losses. No more of that. Also able to save money as many of the books are free if they are copy right free from mobibooks.com. Or a third of the hardcover price. Right now I've indulged myself I'm reading a memoir, fiction and of course the Satyricon for class with a paper due. Then it's on to Ovid for the final books. All of which I was able to download for less than a few bucks. I can organize and sort them by title or author. I can bookmark or copy a whole page and refer to a clipping for writing papers. It also can be used for audio books or music. My daughter Kate is always begging to read her selection of books on the kindle. She wants one of her own that may happen down the road when I buy a newer model.
