Catch-up Post #3: Late May

So... on with the story of my life (which is, by the way, going to get a lot more exciting around mid-August).

When I got back from California, I went to a Canadian Cancer Society volunteers luncheon in honour of my Grandma. She would have received her twenty-year volunteer pin that afternoon had she not walked so heavily in the shoes of a cancer patient herself. It seems that I have been assigned the role of family spokesperson recently, so I was asked to receive the volunteer pin on her behalf. Unfortunately, I had not been aware (until ten minutes before I went up) that a speech would also be required. I think it went all right, though.

There were ticket draws for door prizes, and funnily enough, everyone in the family except Grandpa (there were six of us present) won a prize (yes, this was against odds... of course there was a rumour going around that Grandma must have been pulling some strings). Another winner saw that Grandpa didn't get a prize so she donated hers.

Doesn't Grandpa look happy to have his flowers too?

Only a week or so after that, Vicki had her birthday...

And that's pretty much it until next time (I'll post on Jeff's visit to a very rainy Vancouver Island).
