Today was good!
We started tutoring/assessments. I have four kids, but I saw three today, and two were back-to-back and I was not at all ready for the second kid... Oops! Well, tomorrow I will be so on top of it.
My first girl was a SWEETHEART!! She was so adorable. Her name is Kylie and so she had to tell me about her uncle, whose name is Ky and if she stopped spelling her name with just KY it would be HIS name! She also told me about her cousins... :-)
My second girl was pretty quiet, but I can understand that because I was incredibly quiet when I was her age (and older). Her name is Rogue. She's in second grade. (The other two are in first grade)
My third kid is a boy. His name is Daniel. He is also adorable. He doesn't know all the letters of the alphabet (by name, sound, or how to write them), but he was good at blending and segmenting words. Better than the girls, I might add. I can't wait to see how much he improves!! Every single letter he wrote he asked "How do you write [insert letter]?" Occasionally he would remember and go, "Oh I know how to write that." Other times I would say, "You know how to write that. You just wrote [that letter] right here..."
Then I had some free time, which later in the year will be used for lesson planning, but today I went out to the garden -- did I mention how happy I am that my school has a garden? -- and weeded. I weeded the strawberries and started the row of tomatoes. There are so many tomatoes!! How exciting. I will be a garden MASTER!!
Last night I went climbing with this guy who I met on craigslist. I know.... I know. HEY it's hard to find climbing partners!! Anyway, we met for coffee a while ago, so I know he's not a weirdon. He's really nice.. He lifts me up when he falls, so I am on my tippy-toes until he gets back on the wall.. I haven't had that happen since I was like 14... He doesn't look like he weighs that much more than me. He's a lot shorter... w/e.
I am so tired.
