Halloween exchange reveals!

I signed up for Trick or Treat and got two gifts:

Form (Witcher )by
wednesday (whose style I recognized immediately), a drawing of Ciri practicing with her sword.

Maiden Flight (Old Kingdom) by
Northland a ficlet about a Clayr mage creating a new Paperwing. (I didn't recognize the style, but upon reveals I immediately went to see if this author had written other Old Kingdom fic, and yep, I've read and commented on it all, hee!)

[ETA:] Argh, I forgot, I also wanted to rec below the earth (Dragon Age: Origins) by
venndaai, a somewhat dark Shale/Sten fic with impeccable Shale POV (and wonderful Oghren, hee!).

In addition to these, I want to rec None So Ill (Frontier Wolf) by
Verecunda which is a long and beautifully Sutcliffian Alexios/Julius Gavros(!!) fic, a pairing I never would have thought of but which the story convinced me. So much scenery porn!

Speaking of Sutcliff, I wrote an Eagle fic (movie canon, but some book canon probably snuck in there) as a treat for
downjune: Beneath the Skin , which is Marcus and Esca gen with a pre-slash vibe. Also, Esca is a selkie.

My assignment was for
Sumi, who had asked for any female Inquisitor from Dragon Age: Inquisition, and her thoughts on having become the Inquisitor. I wrote Out of Armor, about Malika Cadash (the default name for a female dwarven player character) meeting a former Carta associate in a tavern.

I also took on a Shipoween pinch-hit for
neosaiyanangel, who had asked for Game of Thrones Jaime/Brienne fluff. I wrote Out of Armor about Brienne dressing up for a Winterfell feast, and Jaime's appreciative reaction.

The observant reader will notice that the titles of the second two fics are the same. (I don't recommend this, by the way, because ugh my kudos emails and comment emails were so confusing!) I couldn't help myself, as the title I'd already used for the DAI fic seemed so perfect for the GoT fic! But I wonder if perhaps having used that title before, it put me in the thematic mindset that suggested the plot of the second story, so it's kind of circular. And in fact, the Eagle fic, which was the last of these I wrote, came very close to getting that same title - but fortunately I thought of a better one (which is still kind of similar!).
