breadfuck toasterworld
I winnowed a lot of my stuff before our move, but now that we are in our new house I am realizing that e.g. our old toaster oven takes up too much room and looks terrible, and our old toaster simply looks terrible and doesn't have the capacity we need, so I'm shopping online for a new toaster. (Long slots for artisan bread, "4-slice capacity" which means 2 in practice because artisan bread, stainless steel and/or black, if you have recommendations.)
Two of the brands which keep showing up? HoLife (which seems to be cheap shit, pushed by Amazon) and SMEG (which looks solid, and nicely styled, but: it says S M E G in big letters across the side, which, no way am I putting that in my kitchen).
HoLife. SMEG. What marketing genius came up with these toaster names?
