things

Thing the first: although I neglected to post here about it, I did, indeed, beat Sarah Palin's marathon time, by a little more than five minutes. Then I found out that an acquaintance of mine on a running forum, who is involved in New York's biggest gay and lesbian runner's club, has with some friends put together the Pass Palin Project - in addition to the CafePress store, they are going to donate $$ to either Planned Parenthood or the National Wildlife Federation for any club member running the NY Marathon who beats her time.

Thing the second: I voted! The ballot was literally as long as my arm. I will be a poll watcher on E-day. Also, B and I made a Barack-O-Lantern!

Thing the third: We watched Becket last night, and wow, subtext much? Needless to say, this morning I checked the Yuletide archive, and was delighted to find three stories about King Henry's forbidden love for his Saxon archbishop. I would not object were someone to write another one, but...

Thing the fourth:...I won't be participating in Yuletide this year - well, I may pinch-hit, but as I have travel plans, I am opting out of the exchange part. So someone else needs to nominate it. And offer it. And while you're at it, don't forget Ivanhoe, Whole New Thing, 3:10 to Yuma, and Sharpe.

Thing the fifth: Speaking of obscure fandoms, a friend (who may out himself if he likes, but doesn't have to) mentioned he was looking for Bernanke/Paulson slash. Anyone? Bueller? vulgarweed?

There were probably more things, but I need to go do stuff. More later, including possibly memes.
