ten things I generally assume you know about me

A couple of years ago cereta started a meme on "ten things you probably know already about me," and I did it - ten things that people who had been reading my journal for a long time had probably figured out, that I sort of assume everybody knows and therefore don't spend any time explaining, but that new friends might not yet know. Sort of a "who I am"

Yeah, it's - complicated. I mean, I appreciate that there are people for whom typing is difficult and painful, who for ease and comfort might not use capital letters. Just as I appreciate that there are dyslexics and blind people who may not notice their typos, and in fact I had a blind woman friended some time ago. But it makes it so much harder for me to read, and I have such a visceral reaction, that I finally decided that I don't really care what your excuse is, whether it's a real problem or just style. The effect is the same: it irritates me to read.

It's like reading stories written by someone whose English is very poor (and who doesn't get them beta-read by someone with a better grasp of the language). Yes, of course I understand that I can't hold that writer to the same writing standards as someone for whom English is the native tongue. But the effect is the same, so I choose not to read such stories.

I spend enough time at work dealing with people whose IQ is lower than their body temperature

Poor you! I think if I had to deal with people in my daily work I'd probably get fired. :-)

Fortunately, I'm not face to face with them. This way, I can roll my eyes and commit imaginary acts of strangulation without fear.
