oh, yeah, this is why I like Christmas!

So, people wrote me stuff! Woo!

My DSSS prezzie is a PG13 Ray/Ray Prohibition-era AU: The Old Goat and the Riviera: Chicago, 1927. Roaring 20s for the win! I love the setting, and the writer made some clever choices for canon parallels. If the writer chose to expand this into a novel, I wouldn't mind. I'm just sayin'. :-)

And Yuletide, OMGYAY! Some very nice person wrote me a PG Lewis/Clark stocking stuffer: An Unexpected Discovery. I love the (historically-supported) characterization of Lewis as awkward and depressive, and the sweetness at the end.

(and EEEE! There is an NC17 Lewis/Clark novella posted for someone else! Oh, man, when am I going to have time to read all these lovely stories?)

And my main story! Which was done as a pinch hit, so I am doubly impressed! And is in the tiniest of fandoms, so I am triply impressed! Can you hear me squeeing from here? Yes! Yes! It's Bon Cop Bad Cop fic! It's crazy bilingual casefic! It's got so much Canadian in it it's probably made of maple syrup! It's Martin/David and NC17! It's got the Martin/Suzie background I requested! ♥ ♥ ♥! Oh, you probably want the link: Plus ça change. ETA: Written by cjmarlowe.

Another excellent BCBC story, not written for me, but I strongly suspect written by the same author, (ETA: nope - by Thea M) is Bonne Chance, Fat Chance. This one's G, and as gen as the movie (which means I can imagine it to be a little slashy, can't I?), and just as wacky.

There is a third BCBC story as well, PG and gen, An Incident of Cancon, which was maybe not quite as well-written as the other two but still is a fun read, and incorporates the bilingual play that I love (even though I don't speak French!) as well as Canadian capers. ETA: by silverspotted.

(Hey, all you C6D people - if you like Canadiana, you really should read these stories, and see the movie as well. [None of these stories spoil the movie particularly.] Even without CKR and PG, it's worth it, I promise!)
