I am very much on a delightful fannish high right now. Of the many things I am grateful for:
- I loved Emerald City ComiCon where I got to meet a_trill and hang out with literaryll for almost an entire weekend. I'm working on my (hopefully) epic ECCC post to include my notes on DC Nation, Pint O' C.B., and little chats with comics creators (all of whom were super and nice!).
- I'm happy with the state of comics lately, including Superman, Batman, and JSA.
- I have a giant stack of DC Archive Editions to read thanks to Interlibrary Loan. Awesome, cracky Golden Age goodness!
- There is Dick/Tim fanart and fic of which I was not previously aware! (Thank you, a_trill!)
- Baseball season has started and it's that wonderful, hopeful first month of the season. The World Baseball Classic was amazing baseball; the M's aren't in last place; and Omar Vizquel is still playing MLB. ♥
- I have not watched television other than baseball and Colbert for more than a month (I'm perfectly happy about that! Both my Smallville and Battlestar Galactica love are safe for now...)
- I did watch this awesome video serenography rec'ed on her journal. It's "Stand By Me" from Playing for Change: Peace through Music. I have a deep affection for this song and this is the best version I've ever heard.
- I had a great time driving the DC Comics fandom crack_van in March, and I highly recommend taking a shot at rec'ing there ( DC needs more drivers!) or at the very least, subscribing to your favorite fandoms' tags.
- I've outlined my JSA bunnies and just may complete the Batfamily fics I've yet to finish. *pumps fists*
- SQUEE! Check out the sketch Gene Ha drew of literaryll and me! Hence, my new default icon. :D
- Baseball Friending Meme!
Btw,
my Scott and Jean is probably Todd Rice - I went from happy tears to swearing just because he wasn't on the last page of Justice Society of America #25! *facepalm* Yeah, that's right Ash, "my Scott and Jean" is not Scott and Jean. :P
