Work experience has been pretty cool so far! The fringe theatre where I'm doing it is really friendly and informal. Casual dress = YAY! And I'm doing it with two other girls and a guy. One girl is called Olivia and she's from Surrey and the other's called Katie and she's from Dartford. Katie is a vicar's kid too - weird, non? The guy doesn't really talk and none of us really know what his name is - something that sounds sort of like 'Ah-mee' or summat.
Anyway, it's really cool! On the first day I painted a door. :) Veeery proud of myself. And had an hour-long discussion about the failings of organised religion.
And The theatre's preparing for its coming performances of three one-act plays by George Nikov, a contemporary Russian surrealist and existentialist playwright who lives in London and conveniently writes his plays in English. So yeah. We're helping the theatre set up for that - today we were reassembling the lighting by leaning a ladder against various pipes running across the sealing, unscrewing the lights and lowering them on an old bit of rope. A health and safety inspector would've had a nightmare. Supervised by a woman who does the lighting for Cabaret, I might add. We managed to talk at length about Harry Potter. So all good really.
Oh, and I had a nice moment on the bus this afternoon when I was sitting reading Order of the Phoenix and there was this guy opposite me reading the same thing. We had a little 'heheh' thing. That was nice.
