You know what I want? I want a chip in my brain which means that every time I think 'ooh I should talk about that on LJ' it writes a little note for me on my computer that comes up whenever I visit the 'Post an Entry' page. Because I get the impression that I have a lot to update about only whenever I get to the point of actually writing about it, it all completely slips my mind...
School is funny. Free periods are spent doing far too little work and attempting to cram upwards of eight people around a table in Starbucks. Have met a new boy who reads Star Wars books, with whom I had an argument about literature. He also said, "Well yeah but, Harry Potter isn't exactly a properly geeky book, is it?" Uhm, has he been on the Internet recently? Just because women read it doesn't stop it from being geeky.
And I've got a part in the school play! It's called Our Country's Good by Timberlake Wertenbaker and it's based on The Playmaker by Thomas Keneally. The plot revolves around 18th century convicts sent to a colony in Australia where the officers decide that they want them to work to put on a play. I'm playing this guy called Dawes who is essentially a male Luna Lovegood. Rehearsals will, no doubt, be horrifyingly long, every day after school for the rest of my young life BUT I haven't been in a school play for two years so this has made me happy.
Other than that, school has remained much the same as always, except that several girls in my history class, myself sadly included, have managed to develop a very slight crush on
Edward IV.
Yeah, I know, I'm giving me that despairing look too.
But he grew up as Edward earl of March (amazing) and when his father was killed in battle he came thundering out of Wales (amazing) and smashed through the Lancastrian forces, onto London and claimed the throne (amazing). When our teacher told us that he was only eighteen at the time, I am not kidding, we squeed.
Yes, crushes on historical figures (Black Prince of Wales, anyone?) are not sensible things to have, but I'd say they were one up on crushes in fictional characters. AT LEAST HE ACTUALLY EXISTED, YEAH?
If you're on my flist, I want to know 35 things about you. I don't care if we never talk, or if we already know everything about each other. Short and sweet is fine... you're on my flist, so I want to know you better. You don't even have to answer them all.
