I'VE DONE MY SILVER DUKE OF EDINBURGH EXPEDITION HURRAH. It was fun as well as majorly painful on my feet. Owie ow. I don't ache, just my feet hurt when I walk and I sort of have to hobble about now in the manner of some ancient pensioner.
I walked 50km over three days and have somehow managed to gain 4lbs. Huh?
On the second day we got back so tired and in pain that myself and two other girls spent the evening sitting on the counter-tops in the toilet with our feet in the sinks, filling them with hot water and giving ourselves 'foot-baths'. Exceedingly odd looks were received from any year 11s who walked in. But it was amazing because Katie came in with a plate full of chopped apples and blackberries (foraged from the footpaths, I LOVE the English countryside) covered in sugar and honey and fed it to us. It was amazing. Also, I scared many many year 11s who were exchanging horror stories by telling the DRIP DRIP DRIP one. Oh yes.
When we were walking from the station back to school, we got wolf-whistled at by a bunch of builders. How desperate do you have to be to wolf-whistle at a group of girls covered in mud, who haven't showered for four days?
And now that I'm back I have to catch up on work because DUKE OF EDINBURGH IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR SLACKING IN YOUR ACADEMIC STUDIES, GIRLS. Ahhhh poo I'm going to go catch up on MERLIN and MOCK THE WEEK and TESS on iPlayer instead...
