One of the things I hate about being from/living in the South: everyone automatically assumes you love iced tea. I think iced tea is one of the vilest substances that a human being could willingly consume. But because I live in the South, there are inevitably times I go someplace where food is served and the only available beverage besides water (which is almost as vile as iced tea, but at least bearable if you're just drinking it by itself...if you drink it with a meal it takes on the taste of whatever food you just swallowed. Beverages should not taste like food. That's wrong!) is...you guessed it...iced tea.
Y'know...COKE was invented in the South. Diet Coke is a variation of Coke. I vote for a new Southern beverage of choice.

My great-aunt Alma died Monday morning, and her funeral was today. I'm sad...but not terribly. She would have been 101 years old next month, and she lived a long and full life. She was rather frail in her last few years, but she still managed to get around. She never missed a holiday dinner at the family farm. And most importantly, her mind stayed sharp up until the end. I'll miss her, yes...but I think she wouldn't want any of the family to be too sad. I think she was ready.
