(no subject)
A real stupid thing:
So four nights ago Ruthie and her roommates had a bunch of people over their dorm room in the Broome St. dorm, myself included. They had taken a closet door and set it up to play beirut. Music was being played loudly. There were probably 15 people in the room (which is gigantic, anyways) drinking beer.
At some point, an RA came by and asked us to turn the music down. We did. She left.
20 minutes later, the same RA, and two others, knocked on the door. We hid all the beer, etc., and then let them in. They asked if we had been drinking and we said yes, we had. So they made us pour out all the alchohol they saw (which was practically nothing) and they wrote us all up for an infraction. Which basically means they took our names, made anyone that didn't live in Broome St. sign out and leave, and it goes on our record. If you get written up 5 times you're kicked out of housing, or something. Point is, this has no effect on me, since I don't live in housing. Everyone else who was written up had to have a meeting; I didn't.
So tonight, Ruthie and I were at my place and decided to walk down to Broome St to hang out there.
And we got there, and I gave the Security Guard my NYU ID to sign in, and he told me I wasn't allowed to sign in at Broome St.
"What?"
"Here, the notice came in today."
He held up a piece of paper. It read, basically: "The following persons are considered Persona Non Grata for the Broome Street Dormitories and are not allowed to sign in: Collin David LaFleche. This will remain in effect through: 06.01.07"
So, what the fuck? And then, it turned out, that Ruthie couldn't sign anyone in until January.
As it turns out, Ruthie missed her meeting with the RA, and sent him an email, to which he didn't reply. Instead, he made it so that I can't sign into the dorm. And it's like, okay, maybe that's protocol, but couldn't they had let us know? And even it is protocol, that's fucking stupid, since they have no proof that I was ever drinking other than Ruthie saying that there was alchohol in the room at the same time I was there.
Retahded. Ruthie says it should be fine, since supposedly this RA is somewhat reasonable. But like, that's some stupid shit. One false move and I can NEVER RETURN.
