Thank you! Castiel's intro scene was one of the best planned and lit I've seen, perhaps ever. So, so, so, many gorgeous icons came from it back in the day. I've gone to that well many a time.
That Sam/Teal'c icon is a scene I've revisited many times, too, but with far less satisfactory results. There aren't a lot of really great Sam/Teal'c bonding moments but this one was epic! I don't know if there was a bulb shortage in Vancouver or what but so many scenes weren't lit -- this one included. I'm a huge SG-1 geek and listened to all the commentaries for the episodes, too. James Tichenor, lighting designer for many years, gives really interesting commentary but I want to beat TPTB about the head and shoulders when he proudly says (more than once), "...and the actors provided their own lighting! That's lit with just the flashlights they're carrying!"
Enough ranting at you. :) Thank you for the lovely comment and I hope you have a great weekend!
I started watching Supernatural at season 6(after I mainlined the previous seasons) so I missed the icons back then because I wasn't in any SPN communities.
Oh me too. I adore Stargate. It will always be one of my favorites.
A lot of the shows have dark or weird lighting for some reason. It drives me insane. (Like Angel or even the first season of SPN and True Blood some of those scenes are so dark it's hard to tell what's going on.)
Castiel's grand entrance is a thing of iconning beauty. *happy sigh*
Agreed on the lighting. I don't know if you're aware, but the lack of color was part of Kripke's vision for SPN, making it stand apart both visually and musically. TPTB at Warner Brothers had something to say about that and SPN got color. It's one of the reasons for the throw away comment in (French Mistake?) from the suit about adding color to the show. :)
But agreed on the lack of lighting. I wonder if maybe lighting in BC is solar powered? In the quest to make their shows visually unique, many shows stray into "OMG, how in the bleep am I going to icon this?!?" territory. Doctor Who took a different road, doing AMAZING things with color. It's a joy to icon. I should sort through my caps some time...
Oh! I'm glad the SPN ones worked! I was uncertain about them since there wasn't much variety in the small set. #70 is an excellent choice. That is an AMAZING photograph of quite possibly the prettiest man alive. What an amazing combo.
They worked REALLY well :) IT IS! The photo is amazing, Jensen is so handsome you wanna cry and..the icon..well, the icon's absolutely splendid...so it really all works out in the best way possible :)
I suspect that between Jensen's pretty face and that photo as published, the photographer did some very fine processing work. Jensen is unbelievably pretty but that photo is down-right Fae Pretty.
Amazing icons! Those Calvin and Hobes ones made me so, so happy. And all of the Jackson love on TW. Loved the b&w icons, they are probably my favs, specially 17 and 87. There also something epic with the way you make a lot of these icons look 3d-ish/comic-ish. Thank you for sharing.
\o/ I'm thrilled to read that! Calvin & Hobbes is such an awesome source; I'm so glad the joy is still there for others, too. :) The world needs more joy.
First, allow me to congratulate you on your fine, sophisticated taste in fandoms. ;) Seriously, though, welcome to my corner of fandom and I'm pleased you chose here to browse. Thank you for the lovely comment!

I've snagged the Castiel icon (I don't think I've ever seen one quite that stunning before). And the Teal'c/Sam icon, I'll credit as they're uploaded.

they are gorgeous and almost all in my interests (save from True Blood that I've never seen), so there was quite a lot of "ohhhh!" and "ahhh!!"
