HAHAHA!!! Mom and Dad were watching Once Upon A Time!!! Did I ever open that???
Master And Commander. I literally miss Maturin.
Anyway, according to A Sea Of Worlds, a glorified Aubrey / Maturin glossary... Manila was taken by the British in 1762, but returned to Spain the next year... Imagine where my life would be if it remained in English hands... I mean, there were would be no giving it to Americans in the Spanish American war and all...
Why have I never seen the commentary to Horatio Hornblower: Loyalty / Duty??? They never had commentary for the other DVDs, so they went back to even the beginning eps, characters, costumes... Jamie!!! Haha... Talking about killing off beloved characters cause how could you or Horatio care about someone you didn't know. But then they did mention that... Archie could have been cared for by doctors and mysteriously show up. Nice, but not very believable... Cause he would have been hanged if he didn't die from wounds. But then maybe the truth came out... I don't believe it was Horatio, or anyone that pushed the captain down the hold. If anything it was all 3 of them / an accident, by cornering him and he falling in. Then talking about wanting to go to the end of the series... Stupid A&E! Why did you become crap!?! Anyway Ioan wants to buy the rights... Do actors, does he make enough to do such? Then bring it to the big screen??? Seriously, Ioan on board, the Producer / Director. What more do you need?
Anyway, was thinking on the time period... From what I did find, it seems like Aubrey and Horatio are contemporaries and could have potentially met, having the same event mentioned in various books. Anyway Aubrey was born in 1771, Hornblower in 1776. July 4th to be exact. For some reason I thought HH was older, but advanced through the ranks quickly. I mean, he was a midshipman at 17 and became lieutenant soon after or something... Anyway, from what I have read... In 1800, Aubrey becomes a commander. I can't seem to find what HH was at that time. In 1803, Aubrey is in command of the Polychrest as a Commander then becomes a Post Captain. Horatio is in command of the Hotspur as a Commander. Then I was wondering on the guns... In the movies, HH has touch plates which I would think are an older technology to flint locks seen in M&C. But then by that time... HH is still a Mmn to Cmndr. Aubrey is Post past 6 (?) years. (He has 2 epaulets.)
HH Randomness. Mawage... Mawage is what bwings us togwether today... LOL!!!
Books. Persuasion. I don't know what it is... I can't bring myself to read more than Chapter 1... I suspect once Wentworth comes into the picture I'd be more excited to read, but... I'm not. Maybe I should read something else. Something easy...
Haha... I watched LA Confidential last night. Have you ever seen a movie so much you don't even pay attention to the story line? Anyway, I condsidered reading the remainder of the
LA Quartet. I've read the Black Dahlia and LA Confidential... I don't have enough info on the other books to make me run and read them, but if I base it on the books I've read... It should be an amusing read at least. Actually, I can't find my copy of Black Dahlia, but that was rather disturbing... And I don't remember LA Confidential enough. :( Wasn't there a love triangle between Bud / Inez / Exley? I remember Exley giving her a... Scooter Squirrel or Danny Duck toy for forgiveness. Getting her in with the characters of Dream-A-Dreamland and their crazy drug / sex parties... And the drugs are in Padgett’s pool.
Haha... Guy Pearce you're so... Seriously, I get glimpses... Mannerisms. But then I could have sworn I read and interview saying he doesn't consider himself gay only in the sense that he's never had sex with a man, but has many gay friends. Then he's been married to his HS sweetheart for... I'm guessing about 10 years at this point and in another interview they haven't been living together since forever cause he's just a loner...
Oh and Russell Crowe is kinda cute in LA Confidential. I never paid much attention to him, being distracted by the hotness of Guy Pearce and all... Lol. Must be the Beautiful Mind / Master And Commander / LA Confidential marathon I had.
In other news...
Good God... Damian Lewis needs to go back on the wall. Who would leave??? Sam West? But whoa... I realized I never had Matthew Settle on the wall. He's always been one of my faces to watch.
Just cause
Blifil gets no love... I love you. Even in the ugly wig. HAHAHA!!!
Pretty? Woman In White. At this point I think I like the story more than the music, with the exception of that song. But then I seem to always focus on the romantic aspect of things... Les Mis with Marius / Cosette... Well and the students, but I could care less about Jean Valjean, which is the actual story. And Raoul / Christine. But POTO is romantic over all... Actually I want to see the Phantom of the Opera again, but I don't think I want to shell out 60+ for back seats when I can get the same for $26 on a weeknight. Aures wants to see it, so... I'll have to go on the weekend I guess. Hm... Maybe I can see if she's ever off mid week.
Seriously...
What the phage... I have no problem with Obama, but Broadway endorsing a candidate... Come on!
Survivor. I found myself nit picking it like it was Man Vs. Wild... Don't sleep in that cave! A snake might crawl in for warmth! I don't even know if such things happen in Micronesia!
