Wow... That was interesting...

  • New layout. My icon makes no sense... Love can't conquer death... Whatever.
  • I bought a little 12oz bottle of gatorade cause it's cute. Freaking 6 ec! That's 2.25! It's like 1/2 the size of a regular gatorade which I'd expect to be at most 1.25. Now you know why I don't buy anything here...
  • I overslept and missed a class on polyuria, AKA peeing too much.
  • TB... I mean, we learned about it. But I don't see why people were dropping dead all over the place before. Was it more virulent? How come everyone else didn't get it? How come all the TB laden prostitutes didn't spread it to the lovers?
  • Path Lab. I was kinda looking forward to it. Not excited really. I find it funny that people think I want to become a pathologist, I want to be like Scully. I admit it is interesting. But... I really don't want to deal with death all the time. Small room. It was litterally a concrete shack in the middle of hospital grounds. Why am I surprised? Everything here is a concrete shack... We were standing around for a bit. Some girl there was doing her path rotation. Thought she was a nurse or something at first, but she was a student. She did the rest of the clinicals in NY, but is doing path in Dominica. Then, you get a lot of hands on experience and stuff. Anyway, we eventually get in there. OMG... Between sessions, we go out. There was a group of people waiting outside. Vladamir has said a lot of the times the family is outside when the autopsy goes on. Really? The people who were there went to ID a body. I think there were several groups / 1 big group who came in a bus. Don't think they ended up IDing anyone cause they kept on pulling people out and they eventually left. It was weird cuase some of them seemed sincerly saddend, while others were like seeing a dead person is a taboo / exciting thing. Then there were 2 other people. Some guy said they came from Canada to ID someone. Anyway, the family approached, I was like I hope to God it's wrong. It weird... To stand there in that situation. I didn't want to look at them. Plus It's different. I mean I know the person is dead, but it's almost life like. Different from Anatomy... Anyway, in terms of learning for school, didn't learn much. I mean all we did was stand there. He wasn't explaing what he was doing, what he was seeing really. Once in a while he'd say something. Couldn't hear him half the time cause of the bone saw. At one point he was just staring at the body. I assume it was to look for lacerations, maybe symetry, etc, etc. I don't know... It was only half the day too, so I really doubt you could learn all that much. It was an experience though. But yeah... I don't want to become a pathologist.
  • Oh yeah, so I went to Roseau... Not missing much. But then agian it's only the hospital. There were a few sections there, if they paved the roads a bit and trimmed the shrubbery, it would almost look civilized. About the only difference I saw was more cars really.
