After 292 days!!! It's kinda a blur. Lol. I honestly stood there and didn't do anything, till Fr. I motioned to give me the Eucharist. I don't even think I said Amen. Such a dork. I was also emotionless till afterward. It's not even a high exactly... But a happiness, a contentment. God is good...
Went to work on Christmas Eve. I saw the office was closed from Dr. L's normal lunch break, which is 12 on. But he ended up seeing patients, not many really, till maybe 1. I thought Marna was prepping something upstairs b/c she was out of the office and I kept hearing goings on upstairs, but when I went up to give something to Dr. L nothing was prepped and Marna was just eating spaghetti. I was also getting the vibe I wasn't leaving early and it was a "normal" day. Marna even said she had no plans, implying we could stay longer than usual. In previous years we've left anywhere between 12 and 3. I come down from my break at 2 and Marna says I can leave at 4. Thanks... Come 3 PM Marna is like... Want to take pictures? Not really, but sure. So we took pics in the waiting room, their house. Social distancing!!! Marna gave us cute glasses to wear as we took pics. We then stood around a bit akwardly. Gloria went down to get something, so I followed. Soon Marna says we can leave. It was 3:45...
So I got home about a hour or more earlier, wasn't hungry. So I finished wrapping my presents to the Aunts. Mom already spoiled the present for the Aunts and told them the candles are blessed. I then wrote the same message I wrote in the cards I sent, with the addition the candles are blessed, so use them reverently / in prayer.
Mom was groggy and asked when was church... I was planning to go in the AM. I had thoughts... But I really don't want to be on camera. So after I ate, I watched streamed carols and Mass. OMG... The carols were cringe! Then they sung Mary Did You Know. Fr. I must really like that song. It's so cringe!!! Oh they also sang
Gabriel's Message. As I said before, I didn't realize it was an actual song prior to Matt Maher till it showed up as the hymn in iBreviary. I then didn't realize the tune is the actual tune till they sung it last night. But then again... Maybe it was the Matt Maher version they were singing? Lol. B/c... They also sang contemporary songs.
Mass was nice. Not much to comment about that. I did my evening prayer before that, which is the official start of the Christmas Season. Then after I did night prayer, etc. Lucky Fr. I / priest are off the hook from night prayer and can go to sleep! HAHAHA... Not like I'm vowed or anything. But there is a note if you participated in The Office of Readings and Midnight Mass you're exempt from saying Night prayer. I ended up sleeping relatively early, around 11, but then work up after 12 with cramps. I actually went to sleep with sharp spasm like cramps. Ugh. P.s. I'm spotting. Why does it have to hurt so bad! Anyway, I quickly got back to sleep after I heated my bed buddy.
I then woke up early and lay in bed for an hour. Got up did my prayers, showered and didn't dilly dally. I decided to dress up and wore a sweater, skirt. It's raining so I wore my "hipster" boots. I asked Mom and
7500centfish if I clashed, yes, but OK. Uh...
We left around 8:30. Mass at 9. I was worried we'd be "late" and not have a "good" view. But considering they had a 800 person capacity... There were a few people there when we got there. But... It didn't really fill up at all. They had like a row of 2 seats on both sides. Then a row of 3 next to that, etc. I don't know how many rows... But like the 2 rows of 2 filled up, a little of the 3s and not much else. I'd say there were less than a regular Sunday Mass. Disappointing? I think most people went to the 4PM yesterday. And probably the 250 the church can fit. I have no clue how many people went to the 11:30 Mass. Lol... I then accidentally put the wrong envelope in the wrong basket. I hope they weed them out. It was dark. Anyway... We came early and sat, so Fr. I when going to the back before Mass like passed by all the seats saying Good Morning / Merry Christmas.
Mass... The acoustics were horrible. I mean, you could hear the readings, Fr. I, the cantor, but you couldn't hear any crowd responses. It was like an awkward wedding with secular people not knowing the responses. But it was beautiful. They had red curtains covering the walls, a giant nativity scene with life sized figures. I took a pic and later noticed the tabernacle to the side. Woops... Lots of poinsettias.
As Mass "filled"... I wasn't intending to receive communion till this weekend, I thought the crowd would be too big. I was worried about all those people and me being the last. But then with the crowd size I didn't see any excuse. I was still worried... Could I build up the courage and go at the end? Then Fr. I and the deacon distributed. Fr. I was on the opposite side, but since I'd be last it doesn't really make a difference when I go. As I saw the ushers gather to receive, I stood behind one and he offered for me to go ahead. I motioned, no I'd go last. Lol. I took my mask of as the last guy recieved and like I said, I just stood there for a second. Fr. I then presented the Eucharist to me and... Coin slot! At least I wasn't in a rush and rammed my tongue into his finger! HAHAHA!!! Yeah, he was careful. I then walked away crying. I'm such a dork!
Oh hahahaha!!! So I haven't been back to St. A's since I graduated. The entrance to "student center" which was the gym didn't exist. They then temp checked us by standing in front of a tablet. But it wasn't registering for Mom b/c she was too close? The guy had to eventually manually do it with a "gun" thermometer. She then entered without a mask so the guy was asking me... "Is she able to wear a mask?" I wanted to take more pictures of the place / decorations, but I felt weird. I was gonna take a pic of the statue of St. Anthony by the entrance, but Fr. I was next to it / a crowd formed around him as we exited so... There was also a statue of St. A (?) by the tabernacle. I noticed a skull by his feet.
Got home and my tablet is blowing up saying they're on Facebook chatting. I don't have facebook... So I just prepped my food to eat a light breakfast before the big meal. Eventually Mom figures it out and is chatting with the Philippines, Norway (???), Canada, etc. I showed up toward the end b/c they wanted to see my face, but then I was walking backward getting smaller and smaller in frame. Lol. There was mention of
7500centfish needs to find a Filipino husband. No mention of me? Lol... Maybe it's one of those I can't marry till
7500centfish marries. Like the oldest first. Doesn't the 2nd get sent to a nunnery?!? HAHAHA!!! Soon after Mom and I skyped
7500centfish and
kumquatqueen. And Ginger. Oh and Indigo who was high as a kite! HAHAHAHA!!! Ginger was initiated into the #DragonParty. As I said... When I bought the toys, she put it in a bag with the giant dragon plushy I thought was small and said, "It's a dragon party in there!" HAHAHAH!!! She opened her presents, I shared what I got myself. Lol. I got the Christmas expansion of The Catholic Card game. I said
7500centfish needed a copy so we could play via skype. I also got a new game, from the same company. Catholics Who Don't Do Anything. It's like... That game never did I ever, except with Catholic things. I didn't really look through the cards to see the stuff it says. I then got a shirt saying, "Just a girl trying to get to heaven". Mom and Tita Nette gave me cards. Heavy on the religion. I wonder why... HAHAHA!!! Still waiting on
sparkyboy's gift. Aures said she gave me something, but it's in Queens.
takyttik82 mentioned stuff for LI at Queens as well. Rested a bit on the couch. Come 1, I started prepping for Linner. Dunch? Family chat started as I was still prepping. Jhumna complemented me that I was cooking. Popping things in the oven isn't cooking. Once again honey baked ham. I didn't eat the salad I bought. I also have cup cakes for later. Drinking coffee to perk myself up.
Thankful I have a long weekend. Marna said the same thing. They closed the office tomorrow, next weekend too. But then she commented that she had called someone and was surprised they were open. Uh... We're open. Anyway... Imagine if I still had time off, how many days? 10 days! I did take a day off this last paycheck b/c of the weather. She asked me if I wanted to use my time for next year. Not really...
I have no clue if they are coming tomorrow. But I don't plan on going out. If I do it's to deposit my checks. But then... Tita Nette gave me a gift card and so did Tita Carmen. I don't even know if I can use L&T cards anymore!
Texts.
Oh so Marna was talking pics and mentioned only her and Gloria were wearing red, while my shirt said Merry Christmas. "But it's the Grinch!" HAHAHA!!!
I needed all my Christmas greetings to have a cake and baby emojis. Lol.
Ooh... Presents coming from 7500centfish too. I think she mentioned it was food.
7500centfish asked how Mass was at St. A's. "Mass is Mass and I was fed."
Lol. I spent family chat stuffing my face! But hey, some people are into that stuff...
Teddy is also a member of the #dragonparty.
Someone was setting fire works off last night around 8. Shut up!!!
Jennie texted me thanking me for the card / greeted me. She got a Korg digital piano for Tita C. I told her pics or it didn't happen! But Tita Carmen is tired. :( But now someone is cooking a tomahawk steak!
Random notes... I usually do that 1st...
Fr. I posted his Christmas post by his Christmas tree. First I thought he was in a cassock, my vid was too dark. With 7500centfish's confirmation she said she could see couch. :( But I just found it funny he had a California Pizza kitchen bag under his tree. He also had one of those gross dry Italian cakes and a bottle of rosé.
Youtub.
During Mass, the usher knocked over the camera that later posts to youtube. The tablet / livestream was unaffected. But thankfully someone righted the camera after a bit. Otherwise... CRINGE! There were maybe 50 people who watched live. So far about 115 saw the youtube.
Eventually I want to watch this. Christmas Story in Latin. But he mentions the KJV... Uh... Why not read from the Vulgate? Plus I think he's very classical pronunciation. But if you're reading from the Bible, it would really be Ecclesiastical?
Twitter.
Lol... Pretty much. When we merged grade schools, we had grass! And our classrooms opened into the outside. It was fancy!
I found someone on twitter, offering up prayers and... I began to feel better. :) I then found another person today and asked for a prayer of Thanksgiving. Once again... God is good!
Lol... #ChacMobb got an actual cat tree! Indigo needs one! cc 7500centfish.
