I got my concept of tomorrow out of my bff Laura, I mean it. Anyway, drabble!time - around 500words also situated after Real Madrid played vs. Athletic Bilbao this season. It may or may not be related to
this, your choice.
.motivation is a ten letter word (and you're the eleventh to fill my team).
whiny!gago and smooth!heinze, mentions of sergio ramos and fabián ayala. random, pointless and extremely short, for the amusement of it and because i plan to plague the world with heinze/gago fanfiction.
"Why do you score every time I'm not even in the bench?"
Heinze blinks, twice, towards the sudden accusation; he also blinks to an empty room and to the phone he's holding with his right hand.
"I'm sorry?" he offers. He's not even sure he should be apologizing but he can't come up with a better answer.
"But really Gaby," Fernando says, and there's a mix of protest and clinginess in his tone which only works to make the other one more confused, "last time you scored I was also out, it's like it motivates you or something."
To this, Gabriel rolls his eyes, "don't be stupid Gago," he says crankily, using the boy's last name like he did back in the Copa América 2007 when he did or said something dull in front of the others.
"Well!"
"Well what?" Heinze sighs heavily, "I scored, aren't you going to congratulate me?" he asks, voice pretending to sound hurt. And before Fernando can reply, adds, "plus, I scored twice." The last line is said with heavy sarcasm.
Gago clearly chooses to ignore that when he says, "congratulations for scoring Gringo," without any special tone, "and I could give you a hug tomorrow but for what I saw, Sergio already took care of that."
Heinze's brain processes the last comment and it gets two sorts of responses; wait, what? would be the first one and what's that supposed to mean? the second one, both ignoring the tiny smile on Gaby's lips at the hint of jealousy in Gago's voice.
"Fernando?"
"Yes?"
"You're an idiot," is what he finally says as a conclusion of his previous mental statements, "and if you're done being especially idiotic for the evening, I'd like to get some rest."
"Fine."
"Fernando?"
"What now?" he sounds clearly annoyed and Heinze grins to that.
"I would also like to have lunch with you tomorrow, we have the day free from training and we could go to that new place you wanted to try."
"Just you and me?"
"Yes Fernando," Gaby says easily, but can't help to add, "Unless you want me to call Sergio…"
"Haha, you're hilarious." Gago replies, and if he's trying to sound infuriated he's failing.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow around noon, okay?"
"Yes," Fernando says and Gaby knows he's nodding as well; he always does that when replying with a single word.
"And try to actually wake up because I'm not entering to your place and dragging you out of bed again."
"That only happened once!"
"In Spain."
"Whatever…"
"Sleep well Fernando."
"You too, Gringo."
When Gaby hangs up he smiles to himself, and considers for a second calling Ayala to ask him if he was stupidly cute back in the time when they started their relationship. While walking to his room he decides against it. First, because he's not going to call Gago 'cute' outside his head; second and mostly, because he's pretty sure Fabián would actually say 'yes' and laugh at him.

there, gago's time as promised ;).
