I'm pink and stiff... and this is a bad thing?

Weekly check in time again.
I'm trying to be good and post at least once a week so that I don't disappear as I've been doing so much this past year.

Hanna came and went. We got eight inches of rain here in town so the flooding was really pronounced. Fortunately, the basement we waterproofed when we moved in still held and we stayed dry.
The worst of the winds went east of us and so we also managed to maintain power throughout the storm. It was nice to be able to hold up in the house with movies aplenty, but I confess to enjoying a little bit of candlelight so I wouldn't have minded a short power interruption. Having electricity meant that I could use the sewing machine to make the girls their new catnip toys though. (I've been going through their toy basket and ditching all their Chinese made things.) They rubbed, slobbered, and generally had a nice time with their new goodies and we had a ball watching them.

Finished up my storage project for my candle making supplies and it went so well that we've bought more shelves and uprights to paint to make another for my sewing notions. I'll start painting the wood tonight or tomorrow and with luck we can have it up by the end of the weekend. I've bought lovely little plastic boxes for sorting. It's a nice, mindless chore, good for puttering with while watching television in the evenings.

Managed to see Iron Man yet again, this made #7 by our count. Have given up on the martinis for the moment and switched to scotch on the rocks. It made a nice change this time. Wish they had some nicer scotches to choose from, but one makes do.

Attended a rally in Fairfax yesterday. It was very interesting, but I now have a rather nasty sunburn and my legs are quite angry about standing for 4 1/2 hours straight. It was quite a lengthy production getting everyone in and out, then again, you don't move 23,000 people quickly. I got home in just enough time to check on the cats and grab my books for class and run out the door. By the time I was done with class, I was ready to sleep for a week. Poor hubby had to get takeout for dinner last night as I couldn't get up and move without wanting to cry. Today I really should be at the office. I'll try in a little bit if the Tylenol ever kicks in.

Need to go Femalt my cat now. Dippy-chan is gnawing on things again, including a package that arrived today, my new Noboro Takatsuki yaoi, and the corner of my laptop.

Hope all is well with you, my flist.
*hugs*
