214 [Wednesday, March 1, Afternoon] Mail call
Irulan recieved the first batch of her mail with a raised eyebrow, especially the one from the Reverend Mother. She accessed the first file, it was her sister, Wensicia.
"It's not fair Father sent you off planet," Wensicia said, her hologram scowling at Irulan, "I should have been the one in your place, you always get the things I want! Don't reply, I just want to tell you how much I hate you!"
Then the hologram winked out of existence.
That was predictable, Irulan pushed the button on her comm to reply but nothing came out of it. She checked the protocols and saw that she was blocked from Wensicia's communicator. Wonderful.
Irulan pulled out another message, this one was encrypted. She keyed in her code until the hologram materialized into Nita's form.
"Greetings, Highness, apologies for the delay but the Bene Gesserit and your father's spies have been on high alert these past few months due to the increased Atreides activity in Caladan."
She frowned, this was interesting, why would her father worry about the Atreides?
"You might be interested to know, Princess, that the Baron Harkonnen has removed Rabban as his heir and is now making moves to make Rabban's brother, Feyd-Rautha as his heir."
The pretty boy? Why so?
"Duke Leto reported about the brutalities Rabban has done in Arrakis in the Landsraad, reports that I've followed up. According to my sources the people of Arrakis has taken to calling him 'Beast Rabban'." The hologram looked at her, "It was because of this that the Baron was forced to remove Rabban as heir."
Oh, the baron would love that but what about Caladan? Why was it disturbing her father?
No sooner had Irulan thought of that when Nita began: "Now, the most curious of developments belong to Duke Leto, there have been rumors and reports that the Atreides have been developing their army. Not to fight the Emperor but against the Harkonnens, Thufir Hawat and Duncan Idaho have increased training and from what Rodan has seen he said that if the training keeps up the Atreides soldiers would be a formidable army that might give the Sadaukar pause."
That was not good, not good at all. If the Atreides kept up this way her Father would no doubt see this as a threat.
The Nita hologram made its goodbyes and disappeared leaving Irulan with her thoughts. She left the Reverend Mother's message for later but it was not to be, it seems the message was on automatic because the image of the Reverend Mother appeared in front of her.
Irulan gulped, even if she were a thousands of galaxies away she still felt the glare burn through her.
"I hope you are keeping up with your Bene Gesserit training. I would hate to see you backslide because of your laziness, Irulan. This madness of your father will end soon and when it does, I would like to see progress in your skills." The Reverend Mother narrowed her eyes at Irulan then disappeared.
Well, that's not good.
