ABS-CBN Studio Tour (part 1)

So we (ichigo_sweet, aksej, ate chin and jackie) met up at Starbucks at the ELJ building. After everyone arrived, we went to The Loop for lunch at Wendy's.

After eating, we went to the Studio tours office and waited there. By 1pm a lot of people were already lining up. We were worried that they might not let us in and we still haven't paid for the tour yet.

Eventually Jackie was allowed to go in and pay for our tickets. After waiting for a few minutes, we were also allowed to go in and we were asked to wait in a small room.

I took a picture of the receipt:

So the tour guide told us some reminders and stuff and we went on with the tour. He brought us to the set of Umagang Kay Ganda... It was pretty empty... hahaha with some sofas covered in plastic inside.

We passed through the corridors where they ambush stars for interviews and stuff. The special guest's private rooms are there.

So the first studio set we went into was the Singing Bee set. I forgot what studio number it was but it was small. Well I haven't really watched the show so I don't know how big it looks on tv but the it's just a small set for such a show. Now I'm wondering how does the Game KNB? set looks like. The small sets looking big on tv is all because of wide-angle lens cameras.

So here are the music notes at the left side of the stage. It's too dark too see though.

The next set we went to was the set where they shoot ANC and other news. There was also a green screen there where they shoot the weather report. And it was there that the tour guide told us all about the "skin beautifying lights" They're basically soft lights... but there are lots of it so I guess they try to balance out the lights to eliminate nasty shadows.

Up next:
The ABS-CBN News room. Where all the cool stuff are found.

So the Newsroom looks really cool. Of course the backdrop looks so cool with the translucent plastic pieces and some etchings that form an image of the Philippines. Stupid me didn't get a nice photo of that one... >.<

And don't forget the beautifying lights are also there as well as another green screen said to be used for myx.

The very interesting teleprompter was also there. Basically it's just some kind of screen with a one way mirror positioned in an angle so the reader could see what was displayed on the screen. Then behind that one way mirror is the camera. I guess they made it that way so that the newscaster would appear to be looking at the camera and have memorized their lines.

And one of my dream jobs:

Being a cameraman (or camerawoman/lady/girl)
Haha take a look since I only post my photo once in a blue moon XD

Keep posted for the next parts!
