[Winry has taken care of one Elric brother before, including all the icky things that taking care of patients entails.

She steps into the room, adjusting the curtains to make sure Al has light but not enough to bother his eyes.]

[Even that small change in light was enough to disturb Al. He blinked his eyes open, squinting and letting out a tiny whimper as he adjusted to the light.]

Brother? [He's been asking for Ed for a while.]

[Al stops to draw in a deep breath. He's not used to talking this much, and it's exhausting. With every beat, his words are growing more slurred.]

[What if Winry doesn't know Brother is hurt... he has to tell someone.]

It's okay, Al. Granny and I are keeping an eye on him. He's healing, even if he's trying to say he's not in pain.

[Her voice roughens a bit.] What you guys did, it's amazing. I want you to know that.
